Methyl Esters

Biodiesel

Derived from domestic animal tallow or imported palm stearin fraction, it is a carbon balanced alternative to petroleum diesel which does not disturb the natural carbon cycle of the planet. Biodiesel as fuel does not contribute in increasing greenhouse gases.

Uses & Advantages:
  • Drop-in substitute and no engine/vehicle modifications are required.

  • Better lubricating properties than petro-diesel.

  • Safer to use as it is free of sulphur and aromatic compounds.

  • Further, it comes under the umbrella of GST in India. 12% GST is levied which the users can later avail credit unlike petro-diesel.

Methyl Soyate

Derived from Soybean Oil, Methyl Soyate is a biobased solvent which is an excellent replacement for petrochemical solvent.

Uses & Advantages:
  • Kauri-butanol value of 57

  • High flash point of greater than 150°c

  • Low VOC levels

  • Low toxicity

  • Readily biodegradable

  • Compatible with organic solvents

Methyl Cocoate – Coconut

Derived from Coconut Oil, Methyl Cocoate is utilized as a surfactant in skin care products and cosmetics to lower the surface tension of a formula and create easier spreadability.
